Texas customers are switched within 1-3 days. You are also able to select switch dates and move-in dates. One of our helpful customer service agents can provide more details about your switch and move-in options.

RECs (or Renewable Energy Credits) constitute an essential source of renewable energy used to meet the State of Texas's environmentally conscious renewable energy goals. RECs are earned by generators that rely exclusively on a source of energy that is regenerated naturally. Examples of renewable energy sources include: solar, wind, wave/tidal, geothermal, hydroelectric, biomass or biomass-based waste products.

From your perspective, until your first Rio bill arrives, nothing will appear to have changed. You will get the same electricity you have previously received from the TDSP. The only difference is that Rio will be out on the market purchasing it for you.
